I was on the fourth season of this flagship Netflix series for over a year, working remotely from Los Angeles while the team shot in Lithuania, Atlanta and New Mexico. The established world of Hawkins was already so iconic, so it was exciting for me to create the look for the new fictional town of Lenora Hills, California — including the Rink-o-Mania. I also had fun making a full Hawkins High 1985 yearbook, and covers & spines for 20 years of yearbooks in the journalism classroom even if you never really see them. I really enjoyed working with costume designer Amy Parris and her awesome wardrobe team to re-create patterns and shirts for the gang, so we could have multiples for all those fight scenes.
